William Gibson's drama about Helen Keller, an Alabama girl who was struck
blind and deaf as a baby, and her remarkable teacher, Annie Sullivan,
herself partially blind for many years. Helen's well-meaning but
over-protective family give Annie two weeks to perform the miracle of
bringing their child out of her darkness. As the play unfolds we witness
Helen's heart-rending first steps towards communication. |
